Therapeutic services are delivered through an intial session that provides an opporunity for the client and the clinician to develop a good rapport and strong working alliance. They work together to identify and clarify the client’s goals and priorites, and determine the best ways to move forward. It may take a few sessions for the clinician to have a comprehensive understanding of the client’s situation and concerns to determine the best treatment plan and the future direction of counselling sessions. All counselling is confidential. Clients need to have a private space where they can freely express their thoughts and feelings without the presence or judgement of others. Information will only be revealed to others with the clients permission. In some circumstances where failure to disclose information may result in clear risk to the client or to others, the clinician may disclose minimal information necessary to avert risk. Furthermore, information may be disclosed if required or authorised by law.
Assessment services provided are dependent on the type of assessment requested. Some assessments may require clinical interview with multiple stakeholders, various assessments, observations, questionnaires, feedback sessions and assessment report. iPsych Wellness Services will provide psychological assessments of:
