Kerrie-ann Wilson
Kerrie-ann is a Registered Psychologist who works with adults and children of all ages. Kerrie-ann earned her Bachelor of Psychological Science from the Central Queensland University, Rockhampton and then earned her Honours of Psychological Science. Kerrie-ann completed her internship with in the education sector and has a passion of working with children and young people. Her research interests include the effects of sleep and loneliness on our daily functioning. Kerrie-ann gained extensive knowledge in psycho-educational assessments, functional behaviour analyses and therapeutic interventions during her internship. She has experience in working within the disability, employment, corrections, child safety and youth justice industries. Kerrie-ann is the founder of iPsych Wellness Services, a member of the Australian Psychological Society and a registered Allied Health Medicare Provider. Her interests outside of the office include being outdoors and spending time with family.
Creating a safe therapeutic environment, Kerrie-ann works with clients new to therapy and those wanting to work on a deeper therapeutic level, with client’s describing her as authentic and caring. She is passionate about assisting her clients on a pathway of true healing, supporting them as whole and capable individuals, not simply a cluster of symptoms.
Kerrie-ann incorporates evidence-based modalities in therapy, including but not limited to cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT), motivational interviewing, solution focussed therapy, psychoeducation and mindfulness. Her lived experiences including being a parent, all enhance her counselling practice working with young people, teens, and adults.
